2022 Jeep Wrangler Check Engine Light and No-Drive Condition

This Wrangler had been to two dealerships for an intermittent check engine light and had already undergone multiple repair attempts. The problem eventually became severe enough that the vehicle could no longer be driven and had to be towed.

What we found: Through circuit and connection testing, we tracked the problem to contamination inside a factory electrical connector. The connector appeared normal externally, but the dirty internal connection was interrupting the circuit.

The result: The connection was properly serviced, normal operation was restored, and the issue was solved without replacing more unnecessary components.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica 42 Codes and Intermittent No-Drive Condition

For roughly two months, this Pacifica experienced an intermittent check engine light and would occasionally disable itself and refuse to move. A scan showed 42 stored fault codes. The main and auxiliary batteries had already been replaced, and the vehicle had been evaluated by multiple shops.

What we found: The large number of codes pointed toward a communication problem rather than dozens of separately failed components. Testing led us to multiple connection failures within factory star connectors used by the vehicle’s communication network.

The result: The affected connections were repaired, communication between the modules was restored, and the intermittent no-drive condition was eliminated.

2015 Honda Accord Multiple Warning Lights and Reduced Performance

This Accord arrived with the check engine light, traction control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and other safety-system alerts illuminated. The owner also reported sluggish acceleration and hesitation.

What we found: A complete diagnostic evaluation revealed faults related to the Vehicle Stability Assist system. We load-tested every power and ground supplying the VSA module and verified CAN communication with a lab scope. All wiring, fuses, power supplies, grounds, and communication circuits tested within specification.

By ruling out every external circuit, we confirmed the failure was internal to the VSA modulator/control module. The failed module was transmitting invalid information across the vehicle network, causing multiple systems to disable.

The result: The correct repair was replacement and programming of the VSA modulator/control module—not unnecessary wiring repairs or replacement of unrelated components.

2009 Hummer H3 Crank No-Start After Alternator Replacement

This Hummer was towed in after an alternator replacement because it would crank but would not start. Initial testing showed the Fuel Pump Control Module was offline and multiple communication faults were preventing normal operation.

What we found: Power, ground, and network circuits were thoroughly tested and verified. During module programming, we discovered the transmission control module was electrically loading the CAN network and preventing communication with the Fuel Pump Control Module. Once network communication was restored, additional testing uncovered a high-resistance ground connection at the rear of the vehicle affecting module operation.

Even after repairing the ground, continued testing confirmed the Fuel Pump Control Module had suffered internal damage from the unstable electrical conditions and required replacement.

The result: Instead of replacing parts based on assumptions, systematic testing uncovered three separate issues—a network communication fault, a poor ground connection, and a failed control module—restoring reliable vehicle operation.

2012 Ford Transit Air Conditioning Would Not Operate

This Transit had been to several shops because the air conditioning would not work. Testing showed the refrigerant system was not the root cause. The compressor was not receiving the proper command to engage.

What we found: A failed blower motor resistor and damaged resistor wiring were preventing proper system operation. We also found that the blower motor was drawing excessive current, which caused the resistor and wiring to overheat.

The result: The blower motor, resistor, and damaged wiring were replaced. Proper compressor command returned, and the air conditioning operated normally.

2015 Ford Fusion Check Engine Light Misdiagnosed as a Thermostat

This Fusion came in with the check engine light on after other shops had advised the owner that the vehicle needed a thermostat.

What we found: A full-system scan and circuit testing showed that the active grille shutter system was not communicating properly with the vehicle’s computer. Further inspection revealed corrosion inside the grille shutter electrical connector.

Using an advanced scan tool, we confirmed that the shutter assembly would not respond to commands. Lab-scope testing showed the network signal returned to normal when the faulty assembly was disconnected, confirming the failure.

The result: The actual repair was replacement of the failed active grille shutter assembly and repair of the corroded connector—not replacement of the thermostat.

A fault code does not automatically identify the failed part. We test the system, identify the root cause, and repair what is actually wrong.

Is this just a free scan?

Without diagnosing the problem, repair pricing is based on an assumption. Testing comes first so the estimate is based on what the vehicle actually needs.

What if the vehicle has already been diagnosed somewhere else?

We can review previous findings, but we will need to perform our own testing before recommending or completing a repair.

Do diagnostics still have value if I decline the repair?

Yes. The diagnostic testing and documented findings are the service, even when you choose not to proceed with the recommended repair.
